Kate McClelland


Kate lives in Chicago in her craftsman style bungalow. While she does business in all types of Real Estate, she confesses a real love and appreciation of historic homes (especially those bungalows).

She’s been around Real Estate her entire life, first working in high school and college with her father in his real estate and development office in California where he developed property and sold wineries to the likes of the Smothers Brothers. Over the decades she bought and sold numerous properties of her own. After landing in Chicago a few years ago she got her license in Illinois, and enjoys the constantly changing challenges of taking exceptional care of her clients. Her strengths of problem solving and nurturing are well suited to making her a strong agent for her clients.

Over the years, Kate has run a small design business and worked alongside her late husband in their construction business. This allows her to bring some unique insights to her clients in terms of vision for either staging their home for sale, or the possibilities of homes the are considering purchasing.

Kate’s life journey allows her to understand and be empathetic with her clients and the many reasons people buy or sell a home. She has three grown daughters, was married for 29 years, and then divorced. Found a true love later in life, and was widowed. She has moved 11 times as an adult, and 7 times while growing up. This is just to say, she likely can relate to what her clients are going through and brings that to the relationship. She is qualified to help guide her clients to a happy conclusion of their Real Estate journey.

Kate is a licensed Realtor®, and Member of the National Association of Realtors, Illinois Association of Realtors, and Chicago Association of Realtors. She has also obtained the RENE (Real Estate Negotiation Expert) designation, ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) designation, the GREEN agent certification, the PSA (Pricing Strategy Advisor) certification, and is continually taking advanced Real Estate courses to gain knowledge to share with her clients.
